Field Trips to Pigeon Roost Farm |
||||
|
Experience a fun and educational field trip to Pigeon Roost Farm. Enjoy the opportunity to visit a working family farm at your own pace with no formal presentation and no timetable. Find the queen bee in the observation bee hive, and touch and feel a variety of products grown on the farm. Explore the big old barn and see the many sizes and varieties of pumpkins, squash, gourds and Indian corn. Take a group picture in Paul Bunyan's chair. Visit the animals you read about in a farm storybook. See goats, chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks, bunnies, a donkey, and even a camel! There's even a resident barn cat named Snickelfritz. Frolic in the 'Great Pumpkin Fun Center', and enjoy slides, tunnels, and a giant corn box. New activities are a duck race, a teepee with cornstalk tunnel, Fort Spence, hay wagon with slide, and a snake seesaw. Don't miss a walk in the 'Enchanted Forest' and try out the new treehouse and circle tire swing. We are a large farm with a lot of open space and plenty of free parking, so there is no need to schedule a specific time to visit. Come by the carload or busload. We are open daily from 10am to 7pm from Sept. 20 to Oct. 31. Admission to the Fun Center is $4.00/person for students, accompanying adults and siblings. There is no charge for teachers. We have small pumpkins available for an additional cost of $2.00. We would like groups to pay as a group rather than individually. |
